ASSO is an elastic-Raman LIDAR system specially designed to monitor the atmosphere accross a wide range of altitude: from 150 meters to 30 kilometers, combining compactness,  accuracy, autonomy in remote use and ease of operation.

ASSO is a modular system operating at two wavelengths, 355nm and 532nm. Fully configured, the system detects both the co-polarized and cross-polarized signals at 355nm and 532 nm along with the Raman echoes at 386 nm, 407 nm and 607 nm using a combination of analog and photocounting detection.

ASSO can be provided with a manual swiveling system or with an automatic scanning system, ensuring a two-axes rotation and the possibiltiy to retrieve 3D aerosol profiles of the atmosphere.

What comparison tests say

ASSO has been compared several times with a competing commercial system working at the same wavelength (but not easily transportable), always giving better results in terms of detected signals and signal-to-noise ratio.

ASSO's power supply unit is so compact to be embedded within the system and does not hinder the system's transportability unlike many competitor products.
